A Sculptural Take on Coastal Living

Set into the coastal contours of Mount Martha, CDC–Century Residence is a masterclass in contrast: where charred timber meets soft oak, and bold form gives way to quiet retreat. Designed by Studio Griffiths in collaboration with DX Architects, the home balances sculptural expression with laid-back livability, giving material weight to a life lived by the sea.

Natural light and texture take the lead. Soaring 3-metre ceilings and expansive glazing open the space, while a palette of rammed earth, oak, and concrete moves between raw permanence and refined calm. It’s architecture that reads as both grounded and generous.

Our lighting plays an intentional role within this rhythm. The Petrine Single Pendant brings sculptural clarity to the kitchen; the Duomo Piccolo Wall Sconce adds gentle form to the bathrooms, accompanied by the precision of Code Delta Kilo.

Organised across three levels, each zone flows intuitively. Spaces for living, resting, and gathering, connected by line, material, and light. Whether indoors or out, the home settles into its surroundings with restraint and confidence.
